I've been offered a new position at the Target distribution center where I work to be the new Production Controller. I've currently been a working a schedule where I only work 3 days a week, but the days are about 14 hours long. (Then I usually end up going in for an additional day... or at least getting on conference calls from home.) With this new job, I'll be doing a Monday - Friday job, with continued long hours, but hopefully more like 10 hours a day. This means Casey is going to have the full responsibility during the week to be running the kids around all over town. Getting them to school and picking them up. He'll also have to lug every kid with him as he does this. Casey is really supporting me to take this new position even though it means a ton more work for him on the home end.
I just got home last week from a trip to Topeka, Kansas for work. Casey had the kids by himself and as usual did a wonderful job. He even had to get up with the baby at night to feed him since I wasn't there. I was hopeful he would have Caleb trained to not wake up any more, but it didn't happen. It seems like Caleb has an alarm that goes off every 3 hours at night! He's terrible about waking up. But I'm enjoying the time together with him while I can. He's growing up so fast.
My new position starts next week so we're enjoying any days off we have together during this week. The fabulous news is that I now have weekends off and will be able to go to church and help Casey with the kids there - although they act worse when I'm there. Halle treats me like a trampoline when I'm there (probably because she's excited to have me .)
